You're an ace pilot on a mission. You're out of fuel, but you've got an idea...
Controls
or 
to move left
or 
to move right
or 
to dash upwards after the meter is charged
or 
to detonate mines when you are within their blast radius, launching you in the opposite direction (hopefully upwards)
